Grown from
the land.

Shaka Farms is our home farm—a living tropical orchard, an edible landscape, and the place the whole Shaka family of businesses took root.

The home farm

A place to grow food, ideas, and a life close to the land.

Our farm is where we learn by doing—planting tropical fruit, shaping useful landscapes, watching seasons change, and building systems that work with the land.

Our principal harvests are jaboticaba for Volcano Winery and a wide variety of citrus for local cafés and juice bars. Across the orchard, we also grow abundant avocado, jackfruit, coconuts, and a broad collection of tropical fruit trees.

It is also the heart of the Shaka family: farming, excavation, and property care connected by one practical respect for Hawaiʻi Island ground.

What we grow

Tropical abundance,
one tree at a time.

Our working harvests serve island makers and kitchens, while a much larger collection keeps the orchard diverse, productive, and always teaching us something new.

A vast tropical collection

Avocado, jackfruit, coconuts, pineapples, and many more tropical fruit trees grow throughout the farm.

Beautiful. Useful. Alive.

Landscapes you can eat.

Edible landscaping brings food production into the places people live—around homes, along paths, and across working properties.

We think about the whole system: how people move through it, how water flows, where shade lands, and how each layer can become more productive over time.

  • Fruit trees and long-term structure
  • Layered planting and ground coverage
  • Access, paths, drainage, and maintenance
  • A landscape shaped around everyday life

Farm rhythm

Plant. Tend.
Harvest. Repeat.

  1. 01

    Observe

Read the sun, water, wind, soil, and the way a place is already being used.

  2. 02

    Plant with purpose

Give every tree and layer a role in the larger landscape.

  3. 03

    Care over time

Prune, feed, mulch, and adapt as the system matures.

  4. 04

    Share the harvest

Let abundance become food, connection, and the seed of what comes next.

The Shaka family

One respect for land.
Three ways we put it to work.

Shaka Farms is the home base. Shaka Excavation prepares land for what comes next. Shaka Pest Control brings experienced eyes and targeted care to larger properties.
